We know that just before the public appearance of Jesus on earth, there was a herald preparing the way.
He was John, but – as Jesus himself confirmed – he was also a type of Elijah who was prophesied to come before the Lord’s appearance. (Elijah will indeed come as one of the two witnesses, just before the Second Coming of Jesus.)
John, miraculously born to turn the people to God, (Luke Chapter One) was gathering people who wanted to repent and wash away their sins, in readiness for the Messiah.
And he was preaching, and saying, “After me, One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to stoop down and untie the thong of His sandals. I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” [Mark 1:7-8]
When Jesus did arrive, John pointed him out in no uncertain manner:
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! …. And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove … this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.” [John 1:29-34]
A False Elijah
The devil loves to mimic and steal everything that belongs to God. He will try to copy the ministry of Jesus, the miracles, the promises, the power – but for himself, not for God.
Therefore I believe there will be another “John the Baptist” figure arising soon, who will point to and affirm the false Christ.
Could we soon be challenged by the appearance of a very eloquent and believable man who preaches the answer to the world’s many problems?
And the answer, he proposes, will come in the form of a leader who is so strong, positive, powerful and wise that he will be hailed as a new Christ – or even as the Second Coming itself?
This modern “John the Baptist” could sway many to accept the devil incarnate, because they are so longing for an end to evil (or at least the evil they have been groomed to believe in) that they cry “give us man or give us devil, we will elect him to lead us out of the darkness!”
It was prophesied of John that he would ”turn many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. And he will go as forerunner before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him” (Luke 1:15-17).
Elijah, too, had the task of restoration. Malachi 4:5-6: “See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.” To this day, Jewish Seders include an empty chair at the table in anticipation that Elijah will return to herald the Messiah in fulfillment of Malachi’s word.
So are we to expect a FALSE John the Baptist type who comes to prepare people to accept the Beast?
Will he be committed to the modern-day heresies of “restoration” and “revival” and “reset” but not in the sense of making ready to accept the Lord Jesus as Ruler of this world! No – he will exalt the Devil.
Overthrowing the NWO
Will this false John the Baptist type – who is very believable and very respected – announce a new “messiah”?
And will this messiah come – as some Rabbis now believe – doing miracles similar to those of Moses, and preaching peace, peace (where there is no peace). Then not only Israel, but a majority of people around the world would believe in him!
See this disturbing article about the predicted appearance of the “messiah” with just the same rhetoric as that used by deluded Christians today –
In a recent interview, renowned Israeli Rabbi Daniel Asor warned of a globalist takeover happening as we speak. “If Hitler is the Third Reich, then the New World Order is the fourth Reich”…. Rabbi Asor [then] reveals the dates that the Messiah will reveal himself. “We are very very close to redemption” Rabbi Asor said. Warning of a one world government ruling the world, the rabbi cautions that … September 2020-September 2021… will be the 9 months where the New World Order rules. In the following year (September 2021-September 2022), a year of the Yovel (Jubilee), on Yom Kippur 2021, the Messiah will reveal himself….
The Vital Difference
While a false herald will preach restoration, and the overthrow of the evil cabal, the elite, the New World Order (or what-have-you) the word of God teaches that a strong delusion and hatred of all that is godly and truthful will precede the Lord’s return.
While false prophets proclaim a return to peace and goodness, the bible speaks of an outbreak of wickedness and a falling away.
While a new John the Baptist may call people to prepare, and expect deliverance, and even repent (as did those who took part in the Return 2020 and Prayer March meetings recently), he will also promise a worldly reward for their repentance.
- Neither John nor Jesus promised earthly blessings as a result of their ministry – Jesus was betrayed and crucified and John ended up being imprisoned and beheaded.
- Neither of these men preached an earthly “re-set” with prosperity and ease for all, but called for personal faith and righteousness, and obedience to God for salvation from the “wrath to come”.
- Christians are IN the world, but not OF the world. While on earth, said the Lord, you WILL have tribulation. “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” [John 16:33]
Here is just one example of the heightened awareness and readiness for signs pointing to revival, but this one goes even further, alarmingly so!
“Several of us were gathered in DC to pray for 3 days and seek The Lord after The Return 2020 leading up to the Day of Atonement. …Someone commented on my post with the prophetic Word.
“Watch, for the whirling winds, for the storm. The Lord says will be a sign. Not a sign of destruction, but a sign of cleansing. … the Lord says I shall bring a storm [Note: QAnon “A Storm is Coming] and wipe out the darkness. A contrary wind. The weight of my glory shall come in and rest upon the nations capital. The enemy will cringe in fear. People will fall on their hands and knees in repentance, the Lord says. For there will be a tent set up, a tent set up, [NB: he means a Tabernacle] where the Presence will come. Even close, the Lord says, to the White House. There shall be a tent of my presence that will release my power. …But the sign will be a rainbow. A rainbow, a rainbow the Lord says, manifesting over the White House… the Lord says it will be a sign of restoration. It shall be a sign of my promise. The promise of my presence and the restoration… The presence of God will come and rest. Days of refreshing and restoration will come…”
Now this is just one false prophecy amongst many that foolish people delight to give, but I have used this one to illustrate the general thinking of them all – glory, restoration, the overthrow of evil, and (most worrying of all) the return of the “Presence of God” to this earth.
This last promise of the Spirit of God returning to a new “Ark” of His Presence is flying in the face of scripture which tells us that the Holy Spirit of God DID return to the “temple” at Pentecost, that is, the Body of Christ – and NOT nations or peoples in general.
(Strange how their ‘God’ seems only to refer to America as his home and place of blessing, and the White House as his new abode! You would think there were no other nations in the world that God cares for.)
The New Herald
How perilous it will then become for anyone who denies the “greatest saviour the world has ever seen” and the “second coming” of all religious messiahs combined into one Superman!
How impossible it will be to defy promises of revival and restoration!
Bible-believing Christians would be hated and persecuted everywhere. (Just as Jesus said they would be, when he described the conditions prevailing just before his Return – Matthew 24.)
The Faithful Few
There will be small groups of people who stand firmly in the truth, and who will be given the task by God to preach against falsehood, and to encourage faith in Jesus. God will not leave the world without a witness to the truth! Few may be convinced, but in the grace of God, some will. At that time, turning from error will almost be a matter of life and death.
This is really, biblically, the time of “tribulation” for Christians.
Those who miraculously appear in Heaven – even surprising John as he sees the vision Jesus gave him of the future – have come “out of the great tribulation”. (Revelation 7:14)
I am sure this tribulation (the word means “pressure” in Greek) consists of hated and persecution, but also the state of the world as nature begins to break down, the earth and skies are shaken, and the devil prepares to appear bodily as the Beast Ruler of mankind.
Where are we in the timeline of Revelation?
False prophets in Israel and elsewhere are pointing to 2021 – 2028 as the time of restoration. But only God knows the times and the seasons!
It’s hard to say exactly and precisely where the world is now, in terms of the Revelation timeline, but since we are heading into “tribulation” as far as I can see, we are not far off the appearance of the person we call “The Antichrist” (although Revelation never calls him that, but it’s a tag that is universally given to the Beast of Revelation.)
IF (I say if) this present pandemic is an outworking of Seal Four having been broken (and I know there is much debate over this, which I don’t want to get into here) but we could be at the dawn of Seal Five – persecution and martyrdom – QUICKLY followed (for that time is “cut short for the sake of the elect”) by Seal Six – the shaking of the heavens and earth, and the sudden appearance of the “Great Multitude” in Heaven.
So, I am wondering, how close are we to the appearance of a herald, who points the world towards a wonderful ‘superman’ on whom we are to pin all our hopes in the face of mounting evil and disruption?
And will this man be hailed as the messiah by Israel? And will he subsequently become bodily possessed by the devil, in his ejection from the heavenlies?
Another Spirit Falls Upon Another Messiah
When Jesus began his ministry, he was shown by the Father to be the Son of God, at that time, by the descent of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. The Holy Spirit descended on Jesus, and “stayed with him” as a sign of his divinity.
John 1:32 – John testified saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him.
Now we are hearing of another spirit descending, it is said, upon the endtimes world and people – and therefore also upon their champion, the other-christ!
It is this “spirit” – we read of it in the false prophecy above – with which he will surely “baptise” those who follow him, immersing them in a powerful new anointing similar to that seen in the “Toronto Blessing” outpouring of the 90’s and later false revivals.
Those false revivals and outpourings were a preparation to accept a blasphemous outpouring that would amount to full demonic possession in the last days.
So, we have the mimicry of the devil is all aspects of the false John-Baptist to come:
- A herald to call people to prepare their hearts
- A call to repentance
- An expectation of restoration when the Messiah appears
- Promises of the overthrow of evil
- Promises of the coming “thousand years of peace”
- Command to accept the man calling himself messiah
- Confirmation with the descent of a spirit
- Miracles, signs and wonders so as to deceive even the elect
- Opponents overthrown and caused to submit (persecution)
This last point, the overthrow of all that opposes “god” in the last days will turn truth on its head. It will not really be the evil elite, nor the godless, nor satanists, that are hunted down and killed – no, those who resist this new messiah will be seen as the enemies of mankind, and THEY will be the ones who are “evil, godless and deserving only of death”!
Are you ready to be a martyr?
