Jesus or Barabbas?

I believe we are coming up to the end of society and the world as we have known it. There is an anticipation, as well as disquiet, that most of us feel.

This seems like a replay of the last days of Jesus, as the BODY of Christ now walks the same path and faces the same challenges and choices. But also the same deep division of opinion has emerged as to how to handle those challenges.

The people of God have walked this path before, and we can learn much from their story, their responses, and their solution. That is why I titled this “Jesus or Barabbas”.

In my current re-reading of the Book of Revelation I developed a curiosity about how much overlap there was with the events of AD70 when Jerusalem was destroyed. I also considered Daniel’s statue alongside the similar Beast of Revelation and therefore thought about the continuation of Rome into our own time (in thought and deed, if not in fact.)

I am not a Historicist, much less a Preterist, but at the same time I am not close-minded about the types and shadows that occur many times in the bible prophecies.

Do Not Love the World

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world — the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life — is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever“. (1 John 2:15-17 ESV)

These are the words of Jesus, who could have come to this world powerfully and with the armies of Heaven to force obedience to God, and to overturn all that is contrary to him. Yet he did not.

Even offered the nations of the world on a silver platter by the devil, Jesus did not hesitate to commit to God’s plan, because ruling the world at the price of bowing to satan’s kingship was not on his agenda, despite the cost he would have to pay in terms of human suffering.

A Coming (Luciferic) Global Revival?

For a few days I have had a message burning in my heart, and today I was about to make a start on sharing that. That is when (coincidentally, if you believe in coincidences) I saw today’s video posted by the E5-11 ministry.

Identifying The Antichrist

1. that Coronavirus looks like a viral response to respiratory difficulty, and
2. that 60 GHz radio frequencies can reduce oxygen uptake thus causing that response in the lungs.

I have a congregant who is alarmed. Snopes is quiet and I’m unsure where to look for credibility. (My Note: At this present date, Snopes is no longer silent on the topic, as there is a very helpful article found HERE – worth reading!)
