Do You Ever Feel Unworthy?

I’m going to write something today that is intensely personal, but for a reason – to demonstrate the kindness and love of God.

I finally had that “penny-drop” moment this morning (it’s about time) where I realised something about myself – possibly this is true for many others – and about my relationship with God.

Attacked by the Accuser

The devil is rightly called the “accuser of the brethren” (Revelation 12:10) and his tactics are to bring believers into fear and condemnation. His works are increasing in these last days, so maybe there is something to be learned from what happened to me last night.

I Was a (Spiritual) Hoarder

When I started praying for cleansing and renewal, little did I realise what God would show me. Like a hoarder, I had been hanging onto things from my distant past as well as my present life.

Suddenly I saw myself as a house, the house in which I lived, and that house was crammed with garbage that attracted flies and rats. I had kept things that were no longer any use to me, thinking they were too precious to let go, but worse, I had stored up so many emotions, buried them under layers of trivia, thinking perhaps they would be useful to me eventually.

I also wondered if – like genuine hoarders – there was a sense of keeping things of my life around me to offer me some kind of protection against further hurt or disappointment.

Jesus or Peter: New Article

I have actually completed (gasp!) some new articles for my Birthpangs.org website.

The new articles are “Jesus or Paul: will you withstand the testing of the last days?” and two small pieces attached to that, one on the Greek translation of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 (about the endtimes and rapture – you might be surprised or shocked!) and another short digression about the Restrainer.

That one needs more work so it’s only a note at present. I may continue to work on it.

Secondly, I’ve finally uploaded Craig’s excellent set of studies on Bill Johnson and Bethel, which were originally posted to his blog CrossWise. Thanks Craig! Visit his blog for even more articles.

Malicious Website Blocking?

I post this just as a heads-up personal viewpoint, and I may be totally wrong but recently I’ve sensed an attempt to add Christian websites to (at least my) anti-virus blocking list.

Lately I’ve been blocked four times when clicking on links elsewhere that were for Christian reports, exposing the actions of false teachers or similar issues. I’m posting this to the blog in case it becomes more of a problem.

Sick chain mail poem threatens death

We have just been the recipients of a sick death threat dressed up as an email from a friend. It’s one of those chain mail emails that you “must” send to everyone in your email box “or else bad things will happen to you” . They are nothing less than witchcraft curses, and I delete them, shred them and pray against their influences everytime I receive one.

Even Christians make the mistake of circulating the “cutsie” versions of these. The ones with a heart-wrenching story (bogus) and supposedly triumphant tale (fake) or sweet pictures to pull at your heart strings…and just like the devil sweetens the cup of poison just before you drink, you scroll to the bottom and read the part that demands you send it to ten friends “or else…”

These letters have been going for as long as I can remember. I used to receive the paper versions of them in the mail. Even then I would go out of my way to contradict what the letter demanded (and nothing happened as a result.) But in those days you were promised GOOD luck – you’d win money, marry the love of your life, go on a holiday or get your dream job – IF you obeyed the devil’s demands.

But today we saw the worst one ever. It’s a “poem”. I cannot tell you what the poem is because (you guessed it) I didn’t read it. BUT according to the text above it, this refusal will cost us our lives!! Yes, people who don’t read the poem will die or lose their loved ones in a horrible accident!

It’s a death threat of the sickest kind. If you delete this chain mail, neglect to read it or do not send it to the full five people, then you will DIE. Stories are given of people who failed to obey, including one woman who didn’t have five friends to send it to, and she died in a traffic accident the next day.

It makes me angry that people can be so foolish as to send these emails on, regardless of the message. There is a Facebook page for people who hate chainmail letters.  Join it herehttp://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=253531279789&v=wall
