There are many excellent blogs and youtubes and articles these days exposing error, and they all have their place. They usually examine in depth one of the many false teachers, pastors, “apostles” or prophets that proliferate all over the TV and Internet, not to speak of megachurches (especially in America.)Continue reading
We all use terms that we understand and apply to biblical events, although the word itself doesn’t appear in the bible. For example, we all say “Rapture” and apply it to the “catching away” of believers in the last days. The word ‘rapture’ is not in the modern English translations of the bible however.
Likewise, the word “millennium” does not appear in the Bible. It comes from two Latin words, “mille” and “-ennium,” which together simply mean “a thousand years.”
We all say “Antichrist” and it’s become detached from its original scriptural use and become a cultural trope misapplied by almost everyone who uses it colloquially and on social media these days. We are in danger now of missing the real Antichrist because of this muddle.Continue reading
No, this is not going to be a post about who, at this stage of history, is the coming false messiah. I’ve seen enough guessing games to last me a lifetime!
In fact, it’s the opposite.
I have witnessed a growing trend on social media, where people – even non christians and agnostics – tend to label every sinister or evil person as the “antichrist”. These people have little to no biblical understanding of who he will be, in reality. Continue reading
In the early 80’s I bought two books by Mary Stewart Relfe that dealt with the coming 666 “mark of the beast” endtime money system and allied technologies, such as bar codes.
Bar codes, you see, had a start/middle/stop signal for the reader that was also, coincidentally, the signal for the number 6. So, three sixes.
That has never stopped me using products with a barcode. Now, if you ask me do I think barcodes will eventually be part of the antichrist deception of the endtimes, my answer would problably be yes. But still today I have no worries about the barcodes on everything in my fridge; I think nothing of it. Continue reading
For many years, the classic evangelical interpretation of the first seal opened in Revelation – the Rider of the White Horse – is that it’s the Antichrist. It is said he comes at the beginning of a seven-year tribulation before which all the Church is taken out of the world by the Rapture.
This bedrock teaching has hardly ever been challenged in the modern day, except perhaps by those who see the first seal as Jesus Christ, or as a metaphor for a historic event.
Let’s deal with this first theory, which began to be taught from around 150 AD. The white horse rider cannot be Jesus Christ, because He is seen in Heaven when the four riders are sent forth (and the living creatures do not command Jesus Christ but the other way round.)
To say that the first rider is Jesus Christ is inconsistent with the nature of all four horsemen, who are spirit beings causing chaos on Earth. They cause a series of preparatory disasters and judgements, leading to mankind’s yearning for a new messiah.

HAVE WE GOT IT WRONG? Is the Antichrist really the False Prophet?
In these days of floods of teaching everywhere, we owe it to ourselves to stick very close to the bible in all that we believe. For that reason I’m going to correct an idea that most people (including myself) held to without really checking it out. That idea is about the person we call the Antichrist.
I am sure that I’ll find, when I check up on myself, the many articles, emails and other pieces of information I’ve shared where – along with everyone else – I identified the two main evil characters in Revelation as the Antichrist and the False Prophet.
Nothing wrong with that, you say. But is it biblical?
Up to recently it probably didn’t matter much, as it’s only a tag, a label. WE knew who we were talking about. NOW, it’s become more and more urgent to get all these things correct before we see them happening for real.

Today as I came to prepare my blog about the new pope, I re-opened a note I’d made a week or so previously, and had never finished. Now, it seems even more relevant, so I will start off with what I wrote then:
