In the spirit of the age, (which is endless speculation about the signs of the times), I decided to make this map and tell you about the data within it. As you know, I have a habit of putting my tongue firmly in my cheek over these things.
Is there a serious point to be made – I don’t really know. The only really SERIOUS worry is that Christians fall into the trap that Jesus warned of. It was the very first warning he made when talking about the endtimes, that is, “Take heed that you are not deceived”.
Matt 24:4-14 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is NOT YET. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and THEN the end will come.
False prophets will abound (like Harold Camping) who will even seduce the elect, and every kitchen table prediction will take on deep meaning when people start to panic about the state of the world, and all the signs we daily see. The more that “lawlessness abounds” the more troubled people will be, and the more inclined to grasp at straws.
Yes, there ARE signs! But as far as I’m concerned all of them go on the back burner until I know something definite from God, and it lines up with scripture. For instance, the end cannot come until certain things happen, such as the greatest apostasy ever known, when “the love of many grows cold”.
2 Thess 2:2-4 “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first”
So then – curious earthquake facts: three recent large earthquakes have struck around the “ring of fire” marking three points on a sort of rectangle on the map. Completing that rectangle with a fourth earthquake would point towards the centre of the United States.
As you see from the map (which is no more than a bit of fun with data really) if you calculate the coordinates then you end up with the 4th point being in South Dakota. The nearest town is Lemmon (so perhaps this data is a bit of a lemon as the Brits would say.)
Here’s another fact, if you count the days between the earthquakes so far it’s 188 days between the one in Chile and the one in Christchurch; and its 188 days between Christchurch and Japan – curious, eh?
So, now we can tell the good folks of South Dakota to expect another huge earthquake 188 days from the one in Japan, which is 15th September. Hmmm. There’s NEVER been an earthquake there so that makes it all the more certain I think. (joking.)
Finally let’s look at the names of the earthquake areas for another curiousity.
The first one in Chile was at Chillan (“where the sun sits”) and Concepcion both of which suggest a beginning; the second earthquake was at Christchurch, specifically a place called Charing Cross – which suggests a religious connection, Christ’s Church and “broken cross” or “bent cross” from ‘Cerring’, an Anglo-Saxon word meaning bend.
The third earthquake was near Sendai which has the meaning in Japanese of “eternity”, specifically a “thousand generations”.
The distance between each event was roughly five and a half to six thousand miles. So far then, in symbolic terms, we have had from the Beginning to Christ’s Church and from Christ’s Church to Eternity, six thousand years.
I’m tempted to say the next earthquake will be in Los Angeles (the angels) because that is what comes after eternity. It’s a distance from Sendai Japan of about 5331 miles.
Or maybe nothing will happen at all. More likely.
I will now add one more factoid to the mix. The next 188 days takes us up to Rosh Hashanah, the start of the next Jewish year. It also takes us to the full moon and the Autumn Equinox.

However, a significant and prophetic event (if it actually happens) is on 20th Sept when the Palestinians’ bid to join the UN as a sovereign nation, capital city East Jerusalem, is voted in the UN.
Everything these days is invested with great meaning. I’m not disbelieving nor disrespectful of signs if they are genuine, but I advise great caution until the truth is known.
